Innovatiemissie duurzame luchtvaart Hamburg/Bremen

Are you engaged in research, development or production aimed at new sustainable aircraft technology, and are you interested in joining forces with German aerospace clusters? Then join the sustainable aviation innovation mission to Hamburg and Bremen.

Hamburg and Bremen are the center of aerospace in Germany. Hamburg Metropolis is the region with companies such as Airbus and Lufthansa Technik, and with Hamburg Airport as an important hub. The region is home to an ecosystem of more than 300 companies and knowledge institutions. Bremen is 'City of Space' and Airbus has announced that it will establish one of its zero emission development centers there. An important project is the development and production of the first generation hydrogen tank. It chooses Bremen because it can then make use of relevant space knowledge that is present in this region.

Exploring cooperation in the field of research, development and production of the aircraft of the future is central to this innovation mission. We are also looking at which innovations are needed for maintenance and operational work at airports in order to support such aircraft. This visit builds on a previous visit to the Toulouse region (France) in 2022 and ties in with the objectives of the Aviation in Transition growth fund proposal.

Goal mission
Dutch industry and knowledge institutions must continue to secure their place in the sustainable future of aviation. The sustainable aviation innovation mission to Hamburg and Bremen will contribute to the development and broadening of Dutch R&D and trade opportunities: the technology now being developed by companies such as Airbus in its ZEROe program will herald the beginning of sustainable aviation and thus the opportunities for a position in the supply chains.

  • Gaining insight into the developments and challenges surrounding sustainable aviation;
  • Strengthen cooperation with the innovation ecosystem;
  • Increasing the visibility of the Dutch knowledge position and development;
  • Exploring and developing NL-German project and research collaboration

For whom?
Are you an entrepreneur, technology provider or researcher affiliated with a knowledge institution active in the theme of sustainable aviation? Then this mission might be of interest to you.
The mission focuses in particular on R&D managers, business development managers, CTOs and CEOs of interested companies (SMEs and corporates) and knowledge institutions. The mission is small-scale with approximately 20 participants (excluding organisation). A maximum of 2 people are allowed per organization.
Definitive participation depends on the number of available places. We also look at how well your expertise fits within the scope and purpose of the mission. Registration therefore does not mean whether you will be admitted to the mission. You will receive a final confirmation of participation after registration has closed.

Concept program
The mission program is still under development. We try to take the specific wishes of the participants into account as much as possible when determining the programme.
