Fact finding Aerospace mission – Bristol, UK 2017

The NAG is organising an aerospace visit to the United Kingdom, which takes place from 10 – 11 May 2017. The mission is organised together with NAG’s UK representative Martin Farmer, the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) Manchester and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The UK’s aerospace sector is the largest in Europe and second globally to the USA. With a £31bn turnover, 128k direct employees and 39% growth since 2010, the sector is home to global players such as BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, GKN Aerospace, Cobham and Marshall Aerospace. In addition, Airbus, GE and Leonardo have production facilities in the UK. It shows that aerospace is a key sector for the UK government. The Aerospace Growth Partnership, also known as The AGP, is a strategic partnership between government and industry which has been established to secure the future of the UK aerospace industry for the next 20 years and beyond.

This joint visit follows earlier NAG activities such as the Rolls-Royce visit in the Midlands during the Interreg IVB programme, the GKN meeting in July 2016, and of course the bi-annual participation in the Farnborough Airshow. Following UK’s Brexit vote much has been said and this is your chance to find out and discuss about cooperation opportunities with the UK aerospace sector.

This visit focuses on the Bristol region. The new draft programme is as follows:

Tuesday 9th May
Delegation arrives Bristol Airport – Easyjet from AMS at 19:30 (book self)

The visits and 1-on-1 meetings will be scheduled based on the interests of participating companies, but will suit companies active in aircraft manufacturing, aircraft maintenance and/or related services. An intake will be done with all participants in preparation of the visits and matchmaking in order to be able to introduce participants to potential business partners.
* The NAG has communicated earlier this year to plan Fact Finding trip to the UK for a week. After the NAG members feedback and the industry's availability during the period of May we have decided to split this mission into two parts. On the 10th and 11th of May 2017 we will visit the Bristol area. After the Paris Airshow 2017 we will attempt to visit Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group in Cambridge area.

* In addition to this visit, the NAG is still attempting to organise a separate mission focussed on airport development & infrastructure. More information will be released as soon as possible.

A minimum of 10 participants are required to be able to organise this programme.

Registration is possible until 23th of April 2017.

Participants might be able to apply for a Starter for International Business mission voucher covering 50% of the participation costs. These vouchers are issued by Netherlands Enterprise Agency. More information (in Dutch): http://www.rvo.nl/subsidies-regelingen/missievouchers-sib.
