Airbus launches its Netherlands Aerospace Platform: Airbus Tech Hub

On April 15th, 2024, Airbus, in collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (MEAC) and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, launched the Airbus Tech Hub. This initiative aims to drive innovation and business activities in aerospace technology, with a focus on accelerating the transition to sustainable aviation.

Wouter van Wersch (Executive Vice president Airbus International) recalled that Airbus wants to grow in four countries, which includes the Netherlands. Especially in the Netherlands due to its high knowledge level(academic and applied research) and good ecosystem with high-quality industry.

The launch event showcased a commitment to collaboration and progress. The program included discussions on key areas such as Sustainable Aerospace Structures & Materials, Future Energy Technologies, Communications of the future, and Sustainable Aviation Fuels. Future other domains are optional.

This platform aligns seamlessly with the Memorandum of Understanding between Airbus and the Netherlands Aerospace Group (NAG), as well as the broader French-Dutch cooperation. Furthermore, it strengthens the alliance between the universities TU Delft and the University of Toulouse, fostering academic collaboration with industry innovation.

With a joint steering board comprising stakeholders from Airbus, the Dutch government, and KLM, the platform is set to facilitate strategic partnerships and initiatives. This event marks a significant step towards a greener, more economically viable future for aviation, inviting all Dutch stakeholders to contribute to its success.
