📢 Public Funding Opportunities relevant for the Dutch Aerospace Sector 📢

The aerospace sector is evolving rapidly. Innovation demands both collaboration and funding. This page helps you navigate the available public funding opportunities, so you can participate more effectively in shaping the future of aviation. In doing so, we aim to strengthen the ecosystem and increase Dutch participation in both national and international subsidy programmes.

General information about grants

Public funding is a financial contribution provided by the government or other institutions to support innovation, collaboration, or sustainability. Unlike a loan, a subsidy usually doesn’t need to be repaid—provided that the project meets the specified conditions. For many organisations, it offers the extra push needed to launch or scale an idea or partnership. Note: most subsidies require a co-financing contribution.

There are several types of funding mechanisms, including:

Project grants: Support for carrying out specific projects, such as research, development, or demonstration.

Investment grants: Funding to acquire equipment or implement sustainable solutions.

Collaboration grants: Aimed at multi-partner projects (often consortia), frequently with an international component.

Loans and guarantees: Not subsidies per se, but government-backed financial instruments with favourable conditions or risk coverage.

EU programmes: European schemes like Horizon Europe that promote cross-border cooperation and technological innovation.

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland, RVO) implements government policy to support innovation, sustainability, and international cooperation. Acting on behalf of Dutch ministries and the European Commission, RVO manages a wide range of subsidy programmes.
