Invitation to Join: PIB Airport Development Malaysia
Share news
We invite Dutch airport development companies to express their interest in joining a Partners for International Business (PIB) cluster focused on Malaysia. If your organisation has not yet responded, we encourage you to do so now and secure your place in this strategic multi-year programme.
Following a market study by NACO, commissioned by the Netherlands Embassy in Malaysia, a fact-finding mission has shown clear opportunities for Dutch airport expertise in the Malaysian market.
Malaysia has prioritised the modernisation and expansion of major airports including Subang, Kota Kinabalu, Pulau Pinang and others. The focus on sustainable development creates clear opportunities. Yet regulatory frameworks and implementation strategies are still developing. Public tenders are frequent however they do typically require collaboration with local partners.
Key opportunity areas include:
- Airfield ground lighting solutions
- Baggage handling systems
- Flight information and public address systems
- Cybersecurity and biometric technologies
- Seamless airport and digital transformation solutions
A new Sarawak International Airport is also planned with emphasis on green hydrogen, artificial intelligence and sustainable design.
Together with the Netherlands Embassy in Malaysia, NAG aims to establish a PIB cluster that will position Dutch companies within this growing market. The PIB programme is supported by the Dutch government through RVO and brings companies together for two to three years to execute a shared action plan and coordinated market approach. A minimum of five companies is required, and clusters slightly larger than this have increased chances of approval. NAG will coordinate activities together with RVO and the Netherlands Embassy in Malaysia.
Express your interest today
Please confirm your interest in joining this PIB initiative. A prompt response is appreciated.
