NAG General Members Assembly December 10th, 2020
On December 10th, the second General Members Assembly (GMA) of 2020 was organized. The GMA was streamed online to our members from the NAG office. The following question was central during the GMA: “How can we demonstrate that the aerospace & airport development industry is essential for the Dutch economy?”. Focco Vijselaar, Director-General Business and Innovation at Ministry of Economics and Climate, and Marc Hendrikse, figurehead HTSM, gave answer to this important question as our guest speakers. It was reiterated how important government support is for our (badly affected) sector and we are pleased to report that specific measures to support our sector are seriously considered.
During the formal part of the GMA René van Doorn announced his departure after being the chairman of the NAG for over 7 years. Because of this departure, a new Chairman had to be chosen. With a vast majority of votes, Lex Besselink was chosen as the new Chairman of the NAG. In addition to voting for the new chairman, there was also a vote for the reappointment of 2 board members. Jan Verbeek and Johanneke ter Hennepe had a time of 4 years as a board member. They have stood for re-election and have also been re-elected as board members by a majority of the votes.
The GMA was closed with a panel discussion. Marc Hendrikse (HTSM), Anke Matijssen (Deerns), Chris Poppe (GKN Fokker), Roel de Graaf (Netherlands Maritime Technology) and Constant van Schaik (SAMCO) participated in the panel. During the discussion Mentimeter was used giving members the opportunity to provide input. This way of participation proves very valuable. The NAG considers to apply such system even when physical meetings will return. On May 20th we hope to organize the next ALV, live at KMWE.
The NAG offers the recordings of the panel discussion and the final presentation of Marc Hendrikse to those who were unable to participate or who would like to listen to the recordings again.
