News update on Lucht- en Ruimtevaart Nederland (LRN)
From this point onward, we will be keeping you informed of developments within LRN. We are pleased to share the following developments with you:
NAG/LRN Collaboration
⁃ The aim is to further strengthen the collaboration between NAG and LRN in the future. A major step in this direction is that, as of 1 January, Paul Eijssen has become the Director of LRN in addition to his role as Director of NAG.
Strategic Compass Aerospace
⁃ For the long-term funding (up to 2030 and beyond) of a research and development programme for the aviation manufacturing industry (and the associated knowledge institutions), LRN is working on a Strategic Compass for Aerospace (SCA). The SCA focuses on continuity and a coordinated approach (rather than ad hoc initiatives). LRN aims to ensure that aviation is recognised as a strategic sector.
– The initial focus of the SCA was on sustainability and economic value creation. Due to the current geopolitical situation, the emphasis has partly shifted towards strategic autonomy and resilience.
⁃ LRN is currently working on the final draft of the SCA. Once the document is finalised, a copy will be provided to you.
⁃ The intention is to officially present the SCA to the Minister of Economic Affairs.
