On April 21st the interactive event “How to create airport development business opportunities from the NAG network”. took place. The interactive event was hosted by NLR – Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre.
The meeting started with a welcome of the host, Jan Bos, marketing director Aerospace Industry.
Anke Matijssen, member of the board of the NAG and Division Director Airport at Deerns acted as chairman of the day.
After the opening there was a brainstorm to get more clarity about the wishes & activities of everyone and the opportunities for collaboration. The brainstorm was split into two part: one focused on the international activities that members would like to focus on and one on the national and network shared options that can be found. Everyone participated in both sessions. Although there is a diverse background to the members and their company profiles there were some interesting possible synergies and opportunities.
Olivier Jankovec, Director General ACI Europe provided a presentation about the “State of the Industry”, the latest developments (COVID recovery and the war in Ukraine) and the role business partners have on the value chain/in the aviation industry.
After that the traditional “Rondje langs de Velden” took place. In previous meetings it has become clear that sharing this information was experienced as very valuable. It is a moment where all those present share their challenges and successes.
Liselotte Zoetmulder, Global Event Manager NAG, presented a proposal for a plan for joint activities/cooperation based on the input for the brainstorm. The proposal focused on the NAG’s role in facilitating the airport members in their business development in the coming years. It was decided to focus on two mission for the coming year and to explore options to organize shared participations or networking moments during important shows. Also the NAG will explore options to come closer to, or even become a member of, the ACI to support members in using the opportunities provided by this important network.
The meeting ended with a network drink.
The working group that prepared the meeting will meet shortly to discuss how we can organize a follow-up based on the input given.
