Report online Session Logistics of April 9th, 2020

The NAG wants to support its members during the COVID-19 crisis. In response to our distributed survey about the impact of COVID-19, Kuehne + Nagel contacted us with the aim to organize an online logistics meeting. This while multiple members share concerns on this topic. The meeting started with a joint introductory presentation from Kuehne + Nagel (Martijn Kok, Key Account Manager Industrial & Aerospace) and Fedex (Paul Slee, World Wide Account Manager) about the current situation focusing on aerospace. The impact on both the OEM (in general) and Airbus (more specifically) the supplier, airline, leasing and MRO were discussed during the presentation. For the time remaining, participating members had an opportunity to share their concerns. In addition, there was examined whether organizations can offer each other support and where the NAG can offer this similarly. Furthermore, it became clear that transport prices are driven up by demand, which is particularly concerning while logistics in general are very important to the aviation sector. The NAG therefore evokes the transport operators to provide more assistance in order to let the sector survive. Further discussed issues can be found in the accompanying report.

A follow-up session is scheduled on April 28th from 2:00 pm. – 3.30 pm. Please note this date in your agenda if you are interested in participating. Topics to be addressed during this session can still be submitted. The invitation to this follow-up session will follow soon.

Due to the special situation in which we find ourselves, the NAG will temporarily not charge any costs for participating in online activities
