Unlocking AI’s Potential in Aviation: Insights from Our Latest Event

Last Tuesday, NAG hosted an inspiring AI in Aviation event at Fokker Services Hoogerheide, in partnership with Brainport Industries and hosted by Fokker Services Group. The event brought together visionary leaders like Paolo Monti (KLM) on line maintenance scheduling, Frits Hoeve (Brainport Industries) on AI in smart manufacturing, Henk Akkermans (World Class Maintenance) and Luca Casciola (Unified International) to explore the transformative power of AI in aviation.
Kicking off the event, we were welcomed by Edwin Poldermans from Fokker Services Group, followed by an introduction from Stephen Hands of Unified International, who is also the chairman of the Task Force AI. The presentations were rich in insights, with LucaCasciola, FritsHoeve, PaoloMonti and HenkAkkermans sharing their expertise on how AI is already reshaping the aviation landscape, from enhancing safety to improving maintenance and optimising operations.
From optimising maintenance cycles to enhancing operational efficiency, the event underscored how collaboration is key to unlocking AI’s full potential. The day was filled with dynamic discussions, insightful presentations and meaningful exchanges between experts, including TUDelft professors and senior leaders from top aviation companies. Attendees walked away with new perspectives, deeper connections and actionable insights 💡—a true testament to the event’s success in fostering a rich learning experience.
