Well-attended GMA at Hive Woensdrecht – Key changes effective from 1 January 2026
Share news
The General Members Assembly (GMA) was well attended and marked an important starting point for the next phase of NAG. During the GMA, members were briefed on the proposed direction and unanimouslyapproved the integration of NAG and LRN. Decisions were also taken on the organisational structure, the membership fee model and the financial course towards 2026.
One stronger organisation
LRN will integrate into NAG. With a single strategy and leadership. Speaking with one voice towards The Hague and combining Public Affairs and Business Development will increase our effectiveness and the added value for members. The integration also delivers efficiency gains: smarter use of resources, greater impact and room for new ways of working together.
Organisational changes
Following the integration of LRN into NAG, public affairs activities will be embedded in the new NAG-LRN organisation. All former members of LRN have committed to the newly introduced Plus membership, which allows participation in these activities. It also provides these organisations with a seat on the new Advisory Board, which will facilitate a “sectorbrede dialoog” between CEOs twice per year.
Changes under the new organisational set-up
From 1 January, dedicated account managers will be appointed per segment, with the aim of intensifying contact with members: identifying needs more effectively, providing more targeted signposting to relevant activities and connecting members with one another more actively.
- Manufacturing: Mark Reijndorp
- Manufacturing Mark Ommert
- MRO: Jens van den Berg
- Airport Development: Fabienne de Hilster
Segment sessions will play a larger role in the programme. They will provide input for joint propositions, the question ‘where is the sector heading?’ and the further development of activities across NAG, including the NAG Knowledge Network (NKN) as well as PIBs, missions, trade fairs and other initiatives. This ensures that our agenda better reflects the interests and priorities of our members.
Other changes
The GMA was also updated on the association’s financial position. In line with the previously proposed aim of improving accessibility for smaller organisations while strengthening the organisation’s financial reserves and social buffer, a membership fee adjustment was adopted.
From 2026, the membership fee will be based on the total number of FTE employed by a member organisation in the Netherlands. Where aviation activities represent only a small part of a member’s overall activities, the fee can be adjusted accordingly. This model will lead to lower fees for smaller organisations, particularly start-ups, while larger organisations will contribute more.
Organisations opting for a Plus membership will contribute an additional €20,000 ( €15,000 for knowledge institutes).
From 2026, there will be a single shared NAG–LRN budget covering all activities of the new organisation.
Other topics discussed at the GMA
In addition to the integration and the membership fee model, progress was discussed on several substantive topics, including next steps for the Strategic Compass Aerospace, (inter)national cooperation and further strengthening of the ecosystem. There was also room for association updates, announcements and a progress report.
New members introduce themselves
During the GMA, new members briefly introduced themselves. We warmly welcome: Hexagon, Dalion, NRG2 Fly, Vaeridion and Cato Composites.
Side event: Young NAG – Exclusive visit to Woensdrecht Air Base
While the main programme included a 45-minute tour for all other participants, Young NAG will have its own extended behind-the-scenes visit at Woensdrecht Air Base on 11 December 2025. Participants will tour Squadrons 980 & 981 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force before rejoining the group at HIVE Aerospace Collective for a joint Cyber Security in Aerospace session.
Segment session: cybersecurity with Jeroen Slobbe (BDO)
Following the GMA, a substantive programme took place, originally consisting of two parallel segment sessions (MRO & Manufacturing and Airport Development). As the second speaker was unfortunately unable to attend, the programme evolved into a well-attended joint session, allowing all participants to benefit from the insights of Jeroen Slobbe (Director Cybersecurity Advisory, BDO).
In his presentation, ‘Cybersecurity and the boardroom: what hackers and board members can learn from each other’, Jeroen guided participants through current developments in cybersecurity and the lessons that boards and organisations can draw from them. Drawing on his background as an ethical hacker and more than 12 years’ experience advising management teams and boardrooms, he demonstrated how cyber resilience requires both technical measures and strong governance with awareness.
Frank Jansen Award
The event concluded with drinks, during which the Frank Jansen Award, 3D printed by Materialise, was presented to Jan Verbeek and Peter Kortbeek in recognition of their many years of commitment to strengthening collaboration and connecting parties within and beyond NAG.
Thank you
We would like to thank Hive Woensdrecht for hosting the GMA and the cybersecurity segment session, Jeroen Slobbe for his insightful contribution and HHt for making this event possible. We also thank all participants for attending and for their active engagement, which contributed greatly to the success of the meeting.
A detailed report of the GMA will follow at a later date.
