Press release: The Netherlands Aerospace industry and Embraer sign Memorandum of Understanding for a strategic partnership for aviation and sustainability

Last Friday, 3 September,  the national association for the aerospace and airport industry NAG, represented by Mr. Lex Besselink, Chairman and Mr. Frank Jansen, Managing Director, and Embraer, represented by Mr. Arjan Meijer, President & CEO, Embraer Commercial Aviation, Mr. Jackson Schneider, President & CEO, Embraer Defense & Security, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The signing of the MoU is an important step towards the future and strategic relationship in the field of aviation and sustainability. The signing took place at the Embraer office in Amsterdam and was witnessed by Mr. Constant van Schaik, CEO SAMCO Aircraft Maintenance and Board member of the NAG, and Mr. João Pedro Taborda, Head of Government Affairs for Europe at Embraer.

The purpose of the MoU between NAG and Embraer is to establish further partnerships and strategic relationships in the field of aerospace and there is a strong focus on sustainability and the sustainable future of aviation. “We look forward to further strengthening our important relationship with Embraer and further integrating the Dutch aerospace ecosystem in their current and future supply chains. The Netherlands is ready to partner on the important topics that have to be covered for the future of our industry and ecosystem”, says Lex Besselink, Chairman of the Netherlands Aerospace Group.

We are aiming to foster the cooperation with the Dutch innovation ecosystem, while also extending our relationship with other stakeholders in the Dutch aviation industry,” said Arjan Meijer, President & CEO, Embraer Commercial Aviation.

Together, we’ll be able to study new technologies in partnership with research establishments and companies, also in the Defense segment,” said Jackson Schneider, President & CEO, Embraer Defense & Security.

The goals of the MoU are focused on continuously assessing opportunities in areas of collaboration, including research and technology in propulsion, structures and materials, and analysis of solutions in Sustainable Mobility, Procurement and supply chain, including structures, interiors and systems; and MRO.
