Sustainability

This working group / event is about our view on sustainability in the aerospace sector. Examples of topics we handle within this working group are: the use of  bio based materials, life cycle analysis,  looking at the decision making process and the overlap in the financial decision making/ financial risk both for operations and investments. And eventually; what will be the next step?

Sustainability of business processes

EU regulations and requirements of aircraft manufacturers in the field of sustainability of business processes will become stricter in the coming years. For new contracts from Airbus and Boeing, this will be a selection criterion; they are also held accountable for this themselves. And energy consumption is already an issue from a business economic perspective. The NAG wants to help its members to meet these challenges as well – by working together, learning together. Together with you and experts, we want to develop an approach.

REACH

REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. This cluster addresses the issues and solutions related to the  use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment.

This working group meetings are interesting for all companies / knowledge institutes that are active in MRO and manufacturing applying surface treatments and using materials that must comply with REACH regulation.

Open Innovation

In our sector we are used to innovate very specifically using direct customer requirements and inputs and Technology Roadmaps and Knowledge and Innovation Agendas. However, disruptive innovations are difficult to achieve with this traditional approach. Open innovation concepts can also be used. Experience with open innovation has been gained in other markets and domains, for example on Smart Maintenance for Infrastructure and Industry, and scientific research studies have been performed to bring this approach further. In our sector examples are TU Delft’s Innovation Hub and SAM-XL.

With this working group we want to bring Open Innovation knowhow and experience to the attention and show what the benefits and the preconditions are. The sessions bring some inspiring examples and will use an interactive approach on concrete topics and perspectives within the aviation sector to bring open innovation to action. Looking together with other companies helps to show how you can achieve (cross sectoral) cooperation through open innovation and research where you can strengthen each other.

To prepare the events and sessions, there is a permanent working group consisting of:

Jan Verbeek

Vice-chairman | ADSE

Jan is vice-chairman of the board and represents ADSE
