webinar Taskforce 3DP “3D printing of continuous fiber composites”

Inspired by the fast growth of additive manufacturing in aerospace & airport development, the Dutch aerospace industry association, NAG organizes AM learning and knowledge sharing webinars about 3D-Printing (a.k.a. Additive Manufacturing or AM).

We would like to invite you for the webinar “3D printing of continuous fiber composites” on Thursday October 10th from 10:30 – 12:00.

Theme
The general key advantages that Additive Manufacturing technology offers to the aerospace industry are lightweighting, automated production and customization or on demand manufacturing. A relatively new development further enhances these advantages by 3D printing of continuous fiber composites. This technology allows single fibers, often carbon but other fibers can be used as easily, to be deposited in unique designs. This enables not only innovative component designs but also unique fiber layout designs in the components that are fully adopted to the function of the component. In this NAG Taskforce 3D webinar we would like to give you a few examples of innovative projects that work on potential applications for aerospace using continuous fiber additive manufacturing.

Target audience
Technology-oriented, no specific knowledge of Additive Manufacturing required, focus on aerospace applications

Objective

  • Creating perspective in the AM market; where are we, where are we heading?
  • Inspiring you; by sharing real use cases in Aerospace
  • Elaborating on the challenges in applying AM for aerospace

Program

  • Welcome by Harry Kleijnen, chairman Taskforce 3DP
  • Presentations by:
    • Maik Titze, German Aerospace Center (DLR), Institute of Lightweight Systems “Additive Fuctionalization – Combination of conventional and additive composite manufacturing”
    • Tessa ten Cate, Program Manager Sustainable Mobility, Brightlands Materials Center – TNO “Additive Manufacturing of components combining good structural and thermal performance”
    • Marc Crescenti, CTO and the inventor of the Reinforce3D Technology – “Improving the mechanical and lightweighting performance of 3D printed products by injecting continuous fibers”
  • Discussion/Q&A

Costs
Participation is free of charge.
