Mission to Boeing

The members of the NAG are invited by Boeing to come to Seattle and discuss the opportunities for Dutch contribution to Boeing (see attachment). Therefore, the NAG invites you to join the visit to Boeing in Seattle in the week of 23 October 2023. The visit is aimed at aircraft manufacturing with a particular focus on lightweight materials, electrification and digital design and manufacturing capabilities. The aim is to open discussions with Boeing on the future of aviation and the Dutch role in the supply chain. There are three main departments of Boeing involved: BCA Research & Technology, BCA Product Development, Engineering, Supply Chain en Strategy. There will also be a visit to the surrounding ecosystem with a focus on innovation and business opportunities. We expect the mission to last all week. You will have input on the programme.

The NAG will organize this mission for a minimum of ten companies. Cost for participation per company are €2.000 ex VAT for members (non-members pay 30% extra) and will include local transport, mission organization, coordination on site and input in the programme. Your travel and accommodation costs are your own.  There is a maximum of two participants per company.

The topics are defined as:

• Manufacturing technology

Technology for production process optimization. Specifically, automation (i.e. automated assembly, machining and manufacturing) and digitization (e.g. for quality assurance) of the production processes.

• Lightweight materials

With a special focus on plastic-based composites, such as thermoplastics.

• Electrification

With a special focus on the electrification of aircraft systems, such as controls and wiring systems (out of scope is electrification of aircraft propulsion).
