Round table: Airport development in the Middle East / Airport Show

In the next years US$100 billion will be spent in the Middle East on
airport development and expansion and another US$50 billion in
the neighbouring regions (Africa and South Asia).

On January 16th (10:00-13:00) the NAG and its member company, SACO Airport Equipment, are hosting experts from the Airport Show Dubai who can present us an overview about all the planned activities and resulting opportunities. 

The presentation will focus on the US$100 billion being spent on airport development and expansion in the Middle East and another US$50 billion  in the neighbouring regions (Africa and South Asia). The objective of this presentation is to help Dutch airport, aerospace and related industry suppliers understand the Middle East market better and have a clearer view on opportunities in the region. The main airport and airspace projects in the region are highlighted, including who are the programme managers, the scope of work and key stakeholders (contractors/consultants already appointed). Information comes directly from relevant authorities to get first hand, updated information to share with the participants.

In addition, a little more understanding is given on why despite several regional crises, the Middle East aviation market remains so resilient. According to all industry estimates, the Middle East aviation market is expected to double in the next 20 years – fuelled by strong airline growth, committed airport expansion and the development of all related industry segments including air cargo, aerospace manufacturing and business aviation. IATA estimates the market to grow 5 percent annually for at least the next 2 decades, attracting an extra 322 million passengers, while Airbus, in its latest Global Market Forecast, has also endorsed this huge volume of growth and expects the fleet size of Middle East operators to more than double from 1,250 to 3,320 aircraft during this period.
