The What and How of AM in Aerospace

Inspired by the fast growth of additive manufacturing in aerospace & airport development, the Dutch aerospace industry association, NAG organizes AM learning and knowledge sharing events. 

The Special Interest Group (SIG) 3DP of the NAG will start with one-hour webinars about 3D-Printing (a.k.a. Additive Manufacturing or AM), starting with two sessions elaborating on the opportunities and pitfalls of AM in Aerospace.

The first session addresses technical-oriented topics whereas the second session will concern the economic aspects of Additive Manufacturing. More sessions will be planned afterwards with inspiring aerospace use cases and other relevant topics such as materials, processes, compliancy et cetera.

We would like to invite you for the first webinar “The What and How of AM in Aerospace” on Thursday March 28th from 11:00 pm – 12:00 pm.

Target audience:

• Technical-oriented, no specific knowledge of Additive Manufacturing required.

• Creating perspective in the AM market; where are we, where are we heading?
• Inspiring you; by sharing real use cases in Aerospace
• Elaborating on the challenges in applying AM

• State of the Additive Manufacturing industry; ‘Where are we?’ by Daniel Hoogstraate, Account Manager Additive Manufacturing Services for the Netherlands at Materialise
• Introduction to most commonly used AM technologies: SLA, SLS, MJF, FDM & SLM by Rob van Loon, Manager Additive Manufacturing at KMWE Additive & Reuse
• When to use AM or not?
• Serial production in aerospace, actual parts
• Pitfalls when exploring appropriate applications for AM
