Aerospace and Airports Market

The tourism industry in Portugal is blooming and since Lisbon Airport is reaching its limits in its current form, further development is required. Next to extending Lisbon’s main airport, Aeroporto Humberto Delgado, the military airport of Montijo will be transformed into a civil airport. This creates opportunities for companies active in airport development, infrastructure and services.

Second to that the Portuguese market is interesting for companies in the MRO and the aerospace manufacturing sectors. The presence of a production facility of Embraer as well as OGMA, a large manufacturer of aerostructures and supplier of (MRO)-services provide ample possibilities for Dutch companies.

Program

For the program we will work closely with our Portuguese counterpart – PEMAS. PEMAS participates in both national and international projects and is based upon a close cooperation with the aerospace supply chain systems integration companies. The members combined turnover exceeds 1.100M€ and represents over 13,500 direct highly specialized jobs working on different areas of expertise in the academic, research and industrial fields. Please find more information on www.pemas.pt.

Some of the activities that are on the provisional agenda include visits to  ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal , the production facility of Embraer in Évora and OGMA – a large worldwide player in the aerospace MRO and manufacturing business. The Royal couple shall be present during some parts of the program.
